Main Functions Slurry Pump
1. Cleaning Drill cuttings from the bottom of the well
- Ability to clean Drill Cutting influenced by many variables such as the solids content in sludge ( solid content) , content of sludge filtration, chisel pressure ( weight on bit) , pump speed, type of chisel, noozle size.
2. Cutting to the surface transport
Cutting surface-transport capability is a vital function of mud, carrying chisel cutting generated through annulus.Daya transport was mainly influenced by the mud flow ( annular velocity profile) , density, yield point and gel strength.
3. Maintaining the stability of the drill hole with menimbangi formation pressure.
Main-Hydrostatic Pressure mud depending on the gravity and depth of drill holes, should be slightly greater than the pressure of formation for gas and liquids do not penetrate into the hole. But too much should not be too large because the mud will be lost and go into the formation ( lost circulation) .
4. To cool and lubricate the cutting tool
-The heat generated due to friction with a rock chisel and drill pipe with large formations. This heat is absorbed by the mud which also lubricates the cutting tool and sekaigus reduce such friction.
5. Bringing information for formation evaluation.
From Cutting-carried by the mud deposited on each surface of the depth of clay, sand, limestone etc.. limestone which also carries out other information such as the presence of salt water and gas.
