I got his piece of Bluetooth kit for Christmas, but I have just started using it. It really is amazing.

What it does: It has two parts: ( 1) a stereo bluetooth headset that fits just inside the ear with an optional extension for your other ear. It is really tiny and light, so you hardly know you are wearing it and ( 2) a FM transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket of your car. When you are in your car you plug the headset into this transmitter. This transmitter sends a signal via your car radio to your car stereo
system. Using this you can play music from your phone over your car stereo. Your cell phone sends the music via Bluetooth. If you have an MP3 player that is not Bluetooth then you can plug this in too using the wire that is supplied.

This is what it’ s like to use it. I am driving along listening to my MP3s from my phone through my car stereo system when a call comes through. I touch a button on the transmitter to answer the call. The music stops automatically and the phone call is diverted to my car stereo so I hear it really clearly in amazing quality. Now the microphone is in the headset which is plugged into the transmitter, which is a long way from my mouth. Consequently you would think that this will never work, or if it does it will be lousy quality for the listener, but this is the amazing part. The manufacturere claims that the microphone is noise cancelling, but how many times have we heard that sort of thing before? Except that this time it really is.

I sometimes drive a really noisy old jeep that rattles your bones, especially when you are off-road. You would never think that you could hold a phone conversation with anybody even with a microphone held up to your lips. In fact it is almost impossible to talk to your passenger unless you are yelling your head off. Yet with this kit you really can have a phone conversation and the caller can hear you perfectly clearly. There is still a bit of background noise but nothing too much at all.

Then, when the phone call is over, the music starts playing again automatically.

When you leave the car you just unclip the headset from the transmitter and pop it in your ear. You can do this mid-conversation if the phone call is still going on.

The only downside it you have to read at least a couple of sections of the manual to figure out how to set it up, but it is really quite easy and even I can understand the manual even though it is translated from Korean.
